Исследовательская работа «Животные в английских пословицах и поговорках и их русские эквиваленты»

The study of proverbs helps better understand the character of the British, learn the historical features of the development of the language, and improve pronunciation skills. Using of proverbs in lessons creates positive motivation, helps to develop phonematic hearing, helps in creating situations of speech interaction, and develops interest in learning foreign languages. The use of proverbs is one of the factors in the development of speech competence of students. This project is relevant, since it is very important for those studying an in-depth foreign language to know the basic and often used zoo-proverbs in order to be able to correctly select the desired equivalent in their native language, avoiding verbatim translation. This is important when communicating directly with native speakers of a particular language.

Therefore, the purpose of my work is to analyze English proverbs and sayings containing the component «pet,» and their Russian equivalents.

Tasks:

1. Learn the dictionary of English proverbs and sayings.
2. Analyze the frequency of pet consumption in English and Russian proverbs and proverbs.
3. Compare the Russian translation of English proverbs. Do animals coincide in English and Russian proverbs.

Hypothesis: through proverbs and proverbs of two countries, a person and the properties of his personality are compared with the habits and behavior of pets

Expected result: when using pets to characterize a person, both negative and positive features are noted.
